I hope you had a nice rest as for me they were intense days of work as I made my personal performing marathon.
Two days, two debuts, four concerts.
Jumping in seems to be a thing in this opera singer profession. This time I was asked to sing a soprano solo in Verdi’s Quatro pezzi sacri during the Festtage Staatskapelle Berlin.
Under Daniel Barenboim I enjoyed like a little girl being able to sing for the first time in the great Berliner Philharmonie, surrounded by the Rundfunkchor voices who sounded completely celestial together with Staatskapelle Berlin.
It was also the first time I had the chance to work with maestro Barenboim directly and I could also witness Aida Garifullina performing Verdi arias live.
That same day I made a second debut as I got to sing with Rolando Villazón in the first concert of the Children’s orchestra of Staatsoper. An extraordinary project of the Young Staatsoper to build an orchestra with kids between 9 and 13 years old under the mentorship of the Staatskapelle members.
It was the first time this children present themselves to a public audience and together with Rolando Villazón we got to sing with them in their special day!
The story repeated itself on the next day, so I performed two concerts each day, one in the morning in Staatsoper and one in the evening in Philharmonie. Was I tired? Not at all, the adrenaline keep me really on point.
